HOW IT BEGAN
It was a tale as old as time— she was a small South American country, he was a suburbs boy, and he took a midnight flight going anywhere. Ecuador had everything a little boy of seven years could hope for: litters of guinea pigs (which, to Jeffrey’s surprise, were a culinary specialty), stray dogs to play with, and hordes of curious kids that always wanted to play.
Throw in long hikes through the deep rainforest of his grandmother’s ancestral home, and a few artfully crafted banana-leaf teepees, and Ecuador was Jeffrey’s new favorite playground. Ecuador and its lively, endearing communities captured Jeffrey’s heart from the beginning, and his love for his newfound family across the equator would stay with him the rest of his life.

OUR FOCUS
Our global division is dedicated to extending a helping hand, and a caring heart, to our brothers and sisters all over the world. This last Christmas, KINEKS traveled over three-thousand miles to Ecuador for our foundation’s Christmas charity effort. A Christmas Eve event hosted at the Global KINEKS headquarters fed hundreds of children and families from Ecuador’s rural communities, and on Christmas day dozens of KINEKS volunteers helped distribute large bags of food to some of southern Ecuador’s poorest, most remote families. Since the spirit of giving isn’t only alive at the holidays, KINEKS continues our global efforts through new housing projects for local families, reforestation projects, and upcoming youth skill-sharing programs.
