HOW IT BEGAN

Jeffrey was born with a strong, deep-rooted love for all creatures – from spiders and beetles to cats and livestock. Once, while burning weeds at his grandparent’s Colorado ranch, Jeffrey even saved a wayward barn mouse from the smoldering pile. Not being one to spare a dramatic moment, Jeffrey hijacked his father and drove to the nearest animal hospital—a mere two hours away. He was always deeply connected to his four (and sometimes six and eight) legged friends, and when he joined his high school FFA chapter, the following four years embedded an additional lifelong connection with the agricultural industry.

OUR FOCUS

What skills describe a successful person? Is it discipline? An excellent work ethic? Premier leadership? Or maybe flexibility and determination? KINEKS believes that agricultural education projects teach youth these essential skills and more. Whether raising livestock, building innovative agricultural systems, or designing AgriScience experiments, the experience of having the responsibility and creative freedom to take charge of an agricultural project is invaluable. Our goal is to support youth who have the drive to pursue these projects but may suffer from social or financial stress. Through mentorship and sponsorship, together we can strive to “make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.”
